Dazzlize Glitter Eyeshadow Palette – Swatches and Review

In this blog post I’m going to be talking about the Dazzlize Glitter Eyeshadow Palette, give you my full review and swatches from the Duo Glitter Palette and the Fairy Glitter Palette. I’ll talk about my first impressions when I received the palette and my final thoughts on recommendation.

Why I Bought This Palette

I was scrolling through Instagram when I came across Dazzlize eyeshadow palettes. I’ve been looking for a glitter palette for a while now and when I came across is I really liked their colours. Based on their feed, their swatches seemed to be quite good so I decided to check out their website and saw that they were having a sale. I purchased two eyeshadow palettes from them – The Glitter Fairy Palette and The Duo Eyeshadow Palette.

The Duo Glitter Palette – I bought this one because it had a range of colours and actually contained the majority of their colours, so I thought why not get it and see which one would work best on me.

The Fairy Glitter Palette – It came in a pink case and has 6 main case. There are some colours in this case which are not in the Duo Eyeshadow Palette, which is why I actually bought both of them. I love the deep blue in this palette and really couldn’t wait to try it out.

Order & Delivery

I placed my order with Dazzlize on 28th January 2017 and was initially worried after reading that a few people had to wait months from their palette to arrive. But I received an email on the 1st February to say it was dispatched, and I received it on the 4th February. So all in all I waited a week to get my products, which isn’t bad.

First Impressions

Dazzlize Duo & Fairy Glitter Palette

So my first impressions with the Dazzlize glitter palette was “absolutely wow, oh my days, I absolutely love these colours! It’s the exact same colours I’ve seen on Instagram; it’s just as shiny, shimmering, and I’m really going to enjoy creating makeup looks with this”. However upon closer inspection I found the glitter palette case to be extremely cheaply made (reminds me of a plastic cd case) and the consistency of the glitter to be weird.

Consistency

Someone messaged me on Instagram asking for swatches from the Dazzlize Duo Glitter Palette and the Fairy Glitter Palette, and it was at this point I realised I wasn’t a massive fan of the palette. The consistency of the product was really weird. It feels squishy like the black surface at a kid playground area. I had to get my friend to help me dig out the colour just so I could swatch it on my hand. I kept thinking if it’s this hard to do a hand swatch, what is it going to be like when I’m creating a makeup look?

Colours

The colours from both Dazzlize glitter palettes were stunning and a few months after purchase, I am not changing my mind. Sometimes things can look better on camera, or be filtered to appear amazing on Instagram but what  you see on Instagram is what you get! Definitely a thumbs up from me!

Thankyou @dazzlize! Your palettes look amazing 😍😍😍 Can't wait to try them!

Application

Applying this glitter from the Dazzlize pressed glitter palette can be difficult for anyone who is not experienced in makeup (like myself). I’m not even sure makeup artists can do wonders with this palette but I’ve seen people use it and claim to create great looks with it. If you watch my video you can see that the product only applies when you use a swiping motion with your fingers. Trying to apply this glitter using a makeup brush is just a no-go and what’s even more frustrating is the amount of fallout you get when you try to blend your crease after applying some glitter. Up until this day I’ve only managed to create some really BASIC looks, which is disappointing because though I’m not a pro makeup artist, I still like to think I’m good enough to be able to create a nice eye makeup look.

Final Thoughts

I would definitely recommend shopping around for a better pressed glitter palette before setting your heart on this brand. For the average prices range of £30, the quality is just too cheap and complicated. I don’t think a product should only be usable by professionals, and in this instance it seems to be the case. As I mentioned previously, you will not get a great look if you don’t know how to handle such a crap consistency but each to their own I guess. One thing I would say is that the colours are stunning so if you are already set on purchasing from Dazzlize, then maybe go for their loose glitter pots instead. I’m sure you’ll have more success with that instead of their pressed glitter palettes.
