Introducing Etta Bond

Etta Bond – She’s different, she’s fresh and she’ll have you hitting that replay button all day long

She describes her music as ‘cool urban…with a bit of weird’; I guess that means we like weird music then. Etta Bond is a 25 year old singer from Cambridge, UK who in June 2011, became the first artist to be signed to Labrinths record label Odd Child Recordings. Though you may not have heard her name, there’s a slight chance that you may have heard her voice. In 2011, Ettas vocals were featured on Wretch 32’s track ‘Forgiveness’, which peaked at number 39 on the UK singles charts. It wasn’t the best single to do well from the rappers album Black and White, but Etta’s unique quirky sound definitely caught our eye. She has since gone on to record tracks with artists like Devlin, Plan B, Lady Leshurr and Professor Green. As it stands, we can say our favourite song so far is ‘Loophole‘, taken from her duo EP with Raf Riley, Meds.

.
When it comes to her music, Etta Bond expressed her influences included the likes of Jill Scott, Billie Holiday, Etta James and Amy Winehouse.

She currently has 3 Ep’s under her belt; two of which she teamed up with producer Raf Riley, and a solo EP titled #CoolUrbanNewTalent.
